Resumo: Fear is an important theme in entertainment, whether in cinema, literature or even in games, whether digital or not. In this paper, it will be discussed why fear is present in certain works and why it is so pleasurable, considering it is a body defense mechanism. The article intends to contribute with design resources to generate terror or horror in the public with documentary analyzes of works both digital, such as movies and games, and physical, such as Graphic Novels and RPG books, of the genre, to assist the writing of new media materials in the genre.

Nesse artigo, será abordado o porquê o medo está presente em certas obras e porquê ele é tão prazeroso, considerando que trata-se de um mecanismo de defesa do corpo.
