I’m an outsider within:: a design education beyond the curriculum

Resumo: This work presents narratives of three designers and researchers about their experiences as design students. We write from the point of view of outsiders within, that is, from outsiders within the field of design, understanding how this perception was crossed by differences of race/class/gender/territorial origin and how these differences constituted our formations and our academic production. The present study focuses on understanding how social interactions outside the classroom impact the formative process of designers.
