Resumo: | The present paper contains a translation of Steven Shapin's article entitled Is There a Crisis of Truth? published in the Los Angeles Review of Books in December 2019. The translation was made in contact with the author and with the editor of the aforementioned journal, Michele Pridmore- Brown. Shapin kindly provided us with an appendix about the article, presenting a brief update on the theme, almost two years after its publication. Seeking the best way to present an article that deals with current issues, we bring a brief biography of the author, as well as a reflective effort on how the "Truth Crisis" and denialism have been conveyed and debated. |

La traducción se realizó en contacto con el autor y el editor de la mencionada revista, Michele Pridmore-Brown. Por lo tanto, Shapin amablemente nos proporcionó un apéndice sobre el artículo, presentando una breve actualización sobre el tema, casi dos años después de su publicación. Buscando la mejor manera de presentar un artículo que aborda temas de mucha actualidad, traemos una breve biografía del autor, así como un esfuerzo reflexivo sobre cómo se ha transmitido y debatido la “Crisis de la Verdad” y el negacionismo.O presente trabalho contém uma tradução do artigo de Steven Shapin intitulado Is There a Crisis of Truth?, publicado na revista Los Angeles Review of Books, em dezembro de 2019. A tradução foi realizada em contato com o autor e com a editora da revista supramencionada, Michele Pridmore-Brown. Assim, Shapin gentilmente concedeu-nos um apêndice acerca do artigo, apresentando uma breve atualização sobre a temática, passados quase dois anos da publicação.
