Resumo: This article analyzes the influence of the Cuban Revolution on the history of the Ação Popular (AP) [Popular Action] during the sixties, until its adhesion to Maoism and the PCdoB [Communist Party of Brazil]. The hypothesis developed in this article asserts that between 1964 and 1967, Foquismo [the Foco theory/Focalism] was seen as a viable alternative in AP's quest for a revolutionary path and struggle against the Brazilian military regime.
