The intellectual trajectory of Frank Ankersmit

Resumo: In order to take forward the challenge of analyzing some aspects of the thought of one of the major exponents within the contemporary theory of history, the Dutch man Frank Ankersmit, (1) we begun our exposition with a brief description of his intellectual trajectory. Next, (2) we identified panoramically the most recurrent themes in his writings. Finally, (3) we focused in the concept of historical representation, which we consider being fundamental to understanding most of his writings. Many others concepts would be tied to this one, but for the sake of saving space, we will not give them a detailed and proper approach. Furthermore, this can be considered a preliminary invitation to read texts from a theorist extremely rich and also complex in the formulation of his ideas.

Em seguida; identificamos, de forma ainda muito panorâmica, os temas mais recorrentes em seus escritos. Por fim, colocamos o foco em um conceito que consideramos fundamental para a compreensão de seus escritos, o de representação histórica. A este conceito estariam atrelados tantos outros, mas, por uma questão de economia de espaço, não vamos analisá-los de forma detalhada.
