Resumo: | Objective: to verify the association of sociodemographic and clinical characteristics with Ventilator Associated Pneumonia and Hospital Acquired Pneumonia Method a cross sectional study with secondary data obtained from notification forms of Healthcare Associated Infections that occurred between January 2017 and December 2018 whose variables were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics Results Ventilator Associated Pneumonia was more frequent in individuals between 18 and 59 years old and HAP in individuals aged 60 years and older (0,003 As for the unit where pneumonia was diagnosed, there was a higher frequency of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia in Intensive Care Units, Burn Treatment Centers, and Burn Intensive Care Units (p 0,001 The frequencies of death were 48 9 of the cases with Hospital Acquired Pneumonia and 69 2 of the cases of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (p 0,001 There was a significant association between bacterial culture and type of pneumonia In the Ventilator Associated Pneumonia group, 76 0 of patients had a positive culture, compared to 56 3 in the Hospital Acquired Pneumonia group (0,001 The most frequent microorganisms were Acinetobacter baumannii Klebsiella pneumoniae Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomona saeruginosa Conclusion there was a statistically significant association between type and pneumonia and age, with more frequent Ventilator Associated Pneumonia in young people and Hospital Acquired Pneumonia in elderly people There was also a significant association between type of pneumonia and the unit, with Ventilator Associated Pneumonia being more frequent in intensive care units and burns Death was more frequent in cases of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia, with a significant association. |

Universidade Estadual de Londrina2020-09-24info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfapplication/pdfhttps://ojs.uel.br/revistas/uel/index.php/anh/article/view/3964910.5433/anh.2020v2.id39649Advances in Nursing and Health; Vol. 2 (2020): ADVANCES IN NURSING AND HEALTHAdvances in Nursing and Health; Vol. 2 (2020): ADVANCES IN NURSING AND HEALTHAdvances in Nursing and Health; v. 2 (2020): ADVANCES IN NURSING AND HEALTH2675-1798reponame:Advances in Nursing and Healthinstname:Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL)instacron:UELporenghttps://ojs.uel.br/revistas/uel/index.php/anh/article/view/39649/28111https://ojs.uel.br/revistas/uel/index.php/anh/article/view/39649/28112Copyright (c) 2020 Advances in Nursing and Healthhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessBacellar, Karla KarolineFuruya, Rejane KiyomiSanches, Jucinay Phaedra SilvaKerbauy, GilselenaBelei, Renata AparecidaPieri, Flávia Meneguetti2022-10-19T17:29:44Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/39649Revistahttps://www.uel.br/revistas/uel/index.php/anh/indexPUBhttps://www.uel.br/revistas/uel/index.php/anh/oaianh@uel.br2675-17982675-1798opendoar:2023-01-13T10:35:00.420588Advances in Nursing and Health - Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL)false |
