Public safety and family violence: policies in front of the COVID-19 pandemic in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Minas Gerais and its developments

This article seeks to understand the new post-pandemic political parameters in Brazil that have been adopted to realize the right to public security within intrafamily relations. The importance of this analysis is limited to monitoring the alternative measures adopted in the face of the growing number of physical, emotional and psychological violence within Brazilian homes. With the advent of the pandemic and the implementation of social isolation, the number of patrimonial crimes has decreased and, on the other hand, the number of aggressions within families has increased. This scenario is necessarily reflected in the need to adopt new appropriate alternatives to materialize the fundamental right of public security and to remove as limitations imposed on the State, as well as resignifying the idea of society's co-participation in public protection. The article will analyze how public security policies to protect victims in social isolation in three states: Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Minas Gerais. The methodology adopted is an analysis of bibliographies, articles and legislative production.
