Resumo: | This paper aims to relate some theoretical models of the literary criticism to some perspectives of reading, used mainly in English language teaching and learning, discussing how criticism can condition ways of reading and interpreting. These models of what is considered reading constitute the future language teachers’ imaginary and some representations can be identified in their utterances, revealing some ‘traces’ of their future behavior as a language teacher. Thus, we intend to discuss and problematize those ‘fixed’representations, suggesting other perspectives on reading. |

Thus, we intend to discuss and problematize those ‘fixed’representations, suggesting other perspectives on reading.Neste trabalho, propomos estabelecer uma relação entre alguns modelos teóricos da crítica literária e certas concepções de leitura utilizadas no ensino-aprendizagem de línguas estrangeiras, especificamente do inglês, discutindo de que forma os primeiros condicionam modos de ler e interpretar e a constituição do imaginário de professores em formação de línguas, os quais se reportam, em suas falas, a algumas dessas imagens cristalizadas do que é ler. Essas representações estão em extrema relação com a prática pedagógica futura desses professores. Dessa forma, pretendemos problematizar essas representações, sugerindo outras perspectivas de leitura.
