The discursive representation of the journalist's work in institutional texts of an information company: the professional issue

Resumo: The aim of this article is to discuss the journalists' statute from their discursive representation in an opening letter of a writing manual of a newspaper from Rio de Janeiro. From an interactionist sociodiscursive point of view, the company's text is conceived as the an enunciation in which language actions build the journalists' statute  and translate part of the conflicts that this class faces in order to construct their profession. The textual analysis of the letter indicates a tendency by the information company to build journalism as a job, rather than as a profession, which brings relevant ethical implications to the practice of  journalism.

Do ponto de vista interacionista sociodiscursivo, o texto empresarial é concebido como um enunciado em que ações de linguagem constroem o estatuto do jornalista e traduzem parte dos conflitos que a classe enfrenta na organização profissional.
