Contemporary journalist: annotation to discuss the professional identity

Resumo: This article aims at raising some points for the discussion on the identity of the contemporary journalist. With such purpose in mind, the article firstly places this subject in the context of the changes which have been happening in the media organizations since the end of the XX century, and which are strongly influenced by the fact that capitalism has been restructured on a global scale and also by the development of new communication and information technologies. In the second part, the text refers back to studies on this issue which were carried out in Brazil and it also proposes a reflection based on conceptions that need to be brought up and analized in the light of the reality of the Brazilian press.

Para tanto, primeramente, situa el tema nel contexto de los cambios que están ocurriendo en las organizaciones midiaticas desde el fin del ultimo siglo, condicionadas fuertemente por la reestructuración del capitalismo em escala mundial e por el desarollo de nuevas tecnologias de información y comunicación. En la segunda parte, se recupera estudios realizados en Brasil sobre el tema e se propone a uma reflexión partiendo de conceptos que necesitan volver a ser problematizados nel ambito de la realidad de la prensa brasileña.Este texto se propõe a levantar alguns pontos para a discussão da identidade do jornalista contemporâneo. Para isso, primeiramente, situa o tema no contexto das mudanças que vêm se operando nas organizações de mídia desde o final do século passado, condicionadas fortemente pela reestruturação do capitalismo em escala global e pelo desenvolvimento de novas tecnologias de comunicação e informação.
