Photojournalism: between opacity and transparency

Resumo: Starting from the concepts of minor photography (GONÇALVES, 2009) and crystal image (DELEUZE, 2007) by Fatorelli (2003), we herein seek to think about Robert Frank’s work as the germ of some possible contemporary photojournalism, in whichmoment its primary function, information, shifts by the imposition of new formats. Therefore, there is the appearance of a new sort of image, which, without missing the characteristic referentiality of journalistic image, points out other possibilities, a more intimistic reflection, besides the immediate journalistic fact. In our work, such new image is detected in the printed photojournalism of Zero Hora newspaper. Thus, we establish a play of opacity and transparency in photographic visual information.

Thus, we establish a play of opacity and transparency in photographic visual information.A partir dos conceitos de Fotografia Menor (Gonçalves, 2009) e de Imagem Cristal (Deleuze, 2007; Fatorelli, 2003) buscar-se-á pensar o trabalho de Robert Frank como o germe de um fotojornalismo possível na contemporaneidade, momento em que sua função primordial, informação, se desloca através da imposição de novos formatos. Dá-se então o aparecimento de um novo tipo de imagem, que, sem fugir à referencialidade própria da imagem jornalística, indica outras possibilidades para além do fato jornalístico imediato. No escopo do presente trabalho, essa nova imagem é detectada no fotojornalismo impresso do jornal Zero Hora (RS).
