Resumo: This article talks about the construction of the imaginary of Spanish being, based on three spanish literary works related to the photographic: La foto de los suecos, Juan Cruz (1998), La ruta de Snábel, from Vital Citores (2001), and El pintor de batallas, Arturo Perez-Reverte (2006). The interest of these books analysis came from the reading of the book España, sueño y verdad, from the researcher and essayist María Zambrano (1965), whereupon she works the spanish ethus built by three literary charecters: Dom Quijote, El Cid and Don Juan. With the analyses, this article explores questions between charecters and authors in the spanish’s recent literary production, where the photographer is revealed as enunciator and narrative element and concludes that, the recent literature keeps considerable distance of social ambiguity presents in the book and in the epic charecters analysed by Zambrano.

O despertar para a análise dessas obras e seus personagens surgiu a partir da leitura do livro España, sueño y verdad, da pesquisadora e ensaísta María Zambrano (1965), no qual ela trabalha o ethus espanhol construído a partir de três personagens literários: Don Quijote, El Cid e Don Juan.
