Difficulties faced by teachers in the process of teaching and learning Spanish

Resumo: There was a polemic debate in one of the classes of the Spanish Post-Graduation Course about the difficulties that we find in the Spanish teaching process, and which Spanish should we teach to the students was one of them. This debate caught our attention, therefore this paper intends to analyze the Spanish teaching process and to verify some difficulties faced by Spanish teachers and students. Therefore, we will review the literature about the aimed competences pointed out at the foreign language National Curricular Parameters (NCP) and at papers about Spanish, in order to contribute to a methodological reflection about the Spanish teaching and learning process, trying to understand the elements which cause conflicts to the process and their relation to the student’s communicative competence.

Esta problemática despertó nuestra atención y este artículo tiene el objetivo de analizar la cuestión de la enseñanza de lengua española y verificar algunas de las dificultades enfrentadas por profesores y alumnos de español.
