“A praça” versus “Dormi na praça”: an intersemiotic comparison between two songs constructed of the same theme

Resumo: Based on discursive level, this research presents a descriptive and interpretative analysis of two songs: “A praça” and “Dormi na praça”. The aim is to perform an intersemiotic comparison between the linguistics and melodic choices made by the authors in order to place senses in these texts. The songs share the same semantic field – remain x not remain in a square – and are composed of verbal and melodic expressions, interlinked to form a syncretic text. As a theoretical basis to perform this study, Semiotic, postulated by Greimas, and Song Semiotic, by Tatit, were utilized.

O objetivo é realizar uma comparação intersemiótica entre as escolhas linguísticas e melódicas feitas pelos dois enunciadores para projetar os sentidos em tais textos. Ambas possuem o mesmo eixo semântico – ausência x em uma praça e são compostas por dois planos de expressão: o verbal e o melódico, que se interligam para formar um texto sincrético.
