Resumo: This article aims to make a conceptual deconstruction of two chronic from different times and contexts. One of them is written by Machado de Assis and the other one, latest, is written by Rubem Braga. The deconstruction will be done based on the mainly theories and thoughts that support the study of order of discourse and linguistic generally. Behind this deconstruction the article pretends to understand better the structure of the chronic in question and show which one has more capacity to reflect the political and social reality of their time.

Uma de autoria de Machado de Assis e outra mais moderna da autoria de Rubem Braga. A desconstrução será feita com base nas principais teorias e pensamentos que fundamentam o estudo da ordem do discurso e linguística de forma geral.
