Resumo: This article aims to legally discuss the Internet of Things (IoT) applied in agribusiness, highlighting the advances and challenges in the State of Mato Grosso, in the perspective of the possible implementation of regional development. IoT as an integrating axis of Revolution 4.0 promises to innovate the Brazilian market with the generation of innovative businesses, especially in the field of agribusiness. Methodologically, bibliographic research with data collection from secondary sources and the descriptive method to meet the general objective of the study were adopted: describing the advances and challenges of the Internet of Things applied to agribusiness in the State of Mato Grosso. The results showed that IoT in agribusiness in Mato Grosso is already a reality, being visible in the technologies of agricultural and production machines, and there must be a search for harmonization between the requirements of economic growth, agribusiness, new technologies, artificial intelligence, human rights. and preservation of the environment.

A IoT como eixo integrador da Revolução 4.0 promete inovar o mercado brasileiro com a geração de negócios inovadores, sobretudo no campo do agronegócio. Metodologicamente foi adotada a pesquisa de cunho bibliográfico com levantamento de dados em fontes secundárias e o método descritivo para atender ao objetivo geral do estudo: descrever os avanços e os desafios da Internet das Coisas aplicada ao agronegócio no Estado de Mato Grosso.
