Resumo: Objective: To analyze the relationships between peer recognition and online attention of researchers in the field of communication in Brazil based on their profiles and their productions distributed on the social web. In addition, it is intended to engender critical reflections and debates about new indicators and qualitative measurement methods to evaluate the production and contributions of researchers in specific areas of knowledge. Methodology: Based on the list of professors in the area of communication (total of 920), 758 active profiles were identified on Google Scholar, from which the profiles of the 10 researchers with the highest h-index were extracted and analyzed, relating indicators of online presence and online attention. Results: From the list of 920 professors in Communication Sciences in Brazil, it was possible to locate 785 active profiles on the Google Scholar Citations platform (Google Scholar profiles). Afterwards, it was possible to establish a ranking with the 10 researchers with the highest h-index values, according to data from the aforementioned platform. Only 10 researchers had an active profile on all platforms. The average h-index among the 10 researchers, according to data from Google Scholar Citations is 56. As for the altmetric score, only 3 authors presented relevant indicators. Conclusions: It was concluded that the dissemination of works in the media and social networks does not necessarily provide a significant increase in the visibility and recognition of peers considering the traditional evaluation method as the number of citations that the researcher receives, but on the other hand the online presence of researchers has the potential to insert scientific production into the online debate and increase visibility outside the scientific community.

Además, se pretende suscitar reflexiones críticas y debates sobre nuevos indicadores y métodos de medición cualitativa para evaluar la producción y aportes de los investigadores en áreas específicas del conocimiento. Metodología: A partir del listado de profesores del área de comunicación (total 920), se identificaron 758 perfiles activos en Google Scholar, de los cuales se extrajeron y analizaron los perfiles de los 10 investigadores con mayor índice h, relacionando indicadores de presencia online y atención online. Resultados: Del listado de 920 profesores de Ciencias de la Comunicación de Brasil, fue posible localizar 785 perfiles activos en la plataforma Google Scholar Citations (perfiles de Google Scholar). Posteriormente, se logró establecer un ranking con los 10 investigadores con los valores más altos de índice h, según datos de la mencionada plataforma. Solo 10 investigadores tenían un perfil activo en todas las plataformas. El índice h promedio entre los 10 investigadores, según datos de Google Scholar Citations es de 56. En cuanto al puntaje altmétrico, solo 3 autores presentaron indicadores relevantes. Conclusiones: Se concluyó que la difusión de trabajos en medios y redes sociales no necesariamente brinda un aumento significativo en la visibilidad y reconocimiento de los pares considerando el método de evaluación tradicional como el número de citas que recibe el investigador, pero por otro lado la presencia en línea de los investigadores tiene el potencial de insertar la producción científica en el debate en línea y aumentar la visibilidad fuera de la comunidad científica.Objetivo: Analisar quais as relações entre o reconhecimento entre os pares e a atenção online dos pesquisadores da área de comunicação do Brasil a partir dos seus perfis e suas produções distribuídas na web social. Além disso, pretende-se engendrar reflexões críticas e debates acerca de novos indicadores e métodos qualitativos de mensuração para avaliar a produção e as contribuições de pesquisadores em áreas do conhecimento específicas. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo qualiquantitativo de caráter básico que partiu da lista de docentes da área de comunicação (total de 920) identificou-se 758 perfis ativos no Google Acadêmico, do qual foram extraídos e analisados os perfis dos 10 pesquisadores com maior índice h, relacionando indicadores de presença online e atenção online. Resultados: A partir da lista dos 920 docentes em Ciências da Comunicação no Brasil, foi possível localizar 785 perfis ativos na plataforma Google Scholar Citations (perfis do Google Acadêmico). Depois, foi possível estabelecer um ranking com os 10 pesquisadores com maiores valores de índice h, segundo dados da referida plataforma. Apenas 10 pesquisadores tinham perfil ativo em todas as plataformas. A média do índice h entre os 10 pesquisadores, segundo dados do Google Scholar Citations é 56. Quanto ao score altmétrico, apenas 3 autores apresentaram indicadores relevantes.
