Knowledge management and information literacy: possible relationships and perspectives of the professional of the archivist

Introduction: Reflections on the current position of the archivist of the archivist, their perspectives of action, the development of skills and abilities inherent to the archival work related to the post-custodial era, as well as the establishment of new and possible relationships. Objective: To establish a relationship between the role of the archivist in contemporary society, involving its performance in the context of Knowledge Management and in the development of Information Literacy. Methodology: Bibliographic research in printed and electronic documents, with authors of the Archival Science, Administration and Information Science, in order to build a theoretical framework that supports the interlocution of the proposed themes. Results: Based on the theoretical framework, it was possible to establish the possibility of an action by the archivist in the Knowledge Management, considering the theoretical precepts of postcustodial and the relevance of developing the Information Literacy for professional action in this scenario, in view of the identification of the needs of conversion of tacit knowledge into explicit and acting in actions of promotion of Information Literacy to the subjects of the organization. Conclusions: Thinking about the role of the archivist in Knowledge Management and Information Literacy, outside the theoretical context, in a practical universe refers to another situation: questioning whether archivist professionals are prepared for this post-custodial reality or face a reality of archives as document repositories, of empirical archivists based on common sense, of professional devaluation, and whether undergraduate courses in archival science provide this kind of reflection and experience.
