Resumo: Introduction: Emphasizes the role of innovation in the Information and Knowledge Society as a favorable element of developing regional, national and global levels. Objective: The aim is reflect about the coming of innovation in the context of production systems and their respective role for the development of society. Methodology: The research sets up a qualitative approach to literature and exploratory nature. Results: As from selected literature review, presents conceptual aspects of innovation in the context of production systems and analyzes its contribution to the national innovation system and the role of organizational culture focused on innovation. Conclusions: Think about innovation from the systemic approach, based on the interaction of the different relevant agents to influence and contribute to the generation of innovation is fundamental in the current conjuncture, characterized by the agility of the transformations in social, economic, political and technological contexts.

Objetivo: Reflexionar sobre el surgimiento de la innovación en el contexto de los sistemas de producción y su respectivo papel para el desarrollo de la sociedad.  Metodología: La investigación se configura por un enfoque cualitativo de naturaleza bibliográfica y exploratoria. Resultados: A partir de análisis de la bibliografía seleccionada, presenta aspectos conceptuales de la innovación en el contexto de los sistemas de producción y analiza su contribución a lo sistema nacional de innovación y el papel de la cultura organizacional enfocada en la innovación. Conclusiones: Pensar la innovación desde el enfoque sistémico, basado en la interacción de los diferentes actores relevantes para influir y contribuir a la generación de la innovación es fundamental en la actual coyuntura, marcada por la velocidad de los cambios en contextos tecnológico, social, económico y político.Introdução: Destaca o papel da inovação na Sociedade da Informação e do Conhecimento como elemento propiciador do desenvolvimento em âmbitos regional, nacional e global. Objetivo: Refletir acerca do surgimento da inovação no contexto dos sistemas de produção e seu respectivo papel para o desenvolvimento da sociedade. Metodologia: A pesquisa configura-se por uma abordagem qualitativa de natureza bibliográfica e exploratória. Resultados: A partir de análise de literatura selecionada, apresenta aspectos conceituais da inovação no contexto dos sistemas de produção e analisa sua contribuição ao sistema de inovação nacional, bem como o papel da cultura organizacional voltada à inovação.
