Validity evidences of the SOPOS for employees of public and private companies

Resumo: Regarded as one of the constructs of greater influence on human behavior in organizations, perceived organizational support is defined as the perception by the employee that the organization values and cares for their well-being. Despite the finding of different instruments for measuring organizational support, in general Brazilian studies have used the scale of perceived organizational support - EPSO, in terms of their psychometric qualities and its small size, with only nine items that measure the construct so unidimensional. Despite the recognized usefulness of the instrument, were not found in the literature indicating its structural validity, reason that justified the main objective of the present study. Participants were 490 employees of different businesses in the city of Rio de Janeiro, aged 16-68 years (mean 39.82 years and standard deviation of 11.68 years), of which 169 were from public companies and 321 private companies, 59% were female and 54% were single. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis procedures ratified the psychometric qualities of EPSO, with indicators psychometric indicators that ensure their use in contexts of public and private organizations.

A pesar del hallazgo de diferentes instrumentos para medir el apoyo de la organización, en los estudios generales brasileños han utilizado escala de percepción de apoyo organizacional - EPSO, debido a sus cualidades psicométricas y su tamaño pequeño, con sólo nueve ítems que miden la construcción forma dimensional. A pesar de la utilidad del instrumento reconocido, no se encontraron en la literatura indica su validez estructural, razón que justifica el objetivo principal del presente estudio. En el estudio participaron 490 trabajadores de diferentes empresas de la ciudad de Río de Janeiro, con edades entre 16-68 años (media 39,82 años y desviación estándar de 11,68 años), de los cuales 169 pertenecían a las empresas públicas y 321 a las empresas privadas; El 59% eran mujeres y el 54% eran solteros. Con base en los resultados de los procedimientos de análisis factorial confirmatorio ratificaron las cualidades psicométricas de la EPSO, con indicadores psicométricos confiables que aseguren su uso en contextos de organizaciones públicas y privadas.Apontado como um dos constructos de maior influência sobre o comportamento humano nas organizações, a percepção de suporte organizacional é definida como a percepção por parte do empregado de que a organização o valoriza e zela pelo seu bem-estar. Apesar da constatação de diferentes instrumentos para mensuração do suporte organizacional, em geral os estudos brasileiros têm utilizado a escala de percepção de suporte organizacional – EPSO, em função de suas qualidades psicométricas e pelo seu tamanho reduzido, contando apenas com nove itens que mensuram o constructo de forma unidimensional. Apesar da reconhecida utilidade do instrumento, não foram encontrados na literatura indicativos de sua validade estrutural, motivo que fundamentou o principal objetivo do presente estudo. Participaram do estudo 490 trabalhadores de diferentes empresas da cidade do Rio de Janeiro, com idade variando de 16 a 68 anos (média de 39,82 anos e desvio padrão de 11,68 anos), dos quais 169 pertenciam a empresas públicas e 321 a empresas privadas; 59% eram do sexo feminino e 54% solteiros.
