HISTORICAL RESEARCH RESOURCES IN THE HISTORY OF EDUCATION: PERIODICALS AND SCHOOL ARCHIVES IN MATO GROSSO

Resumo: This paper aims to provide valuable contributions to the field of study on the History of Education, stimulating a discussion on topics such as the periodicals and school records; likewise, the article seeks to delineate the paths taken by researchers regarding the use of these source materials in the History of Education, which is the focus of studies conducted in public universities in Mato Grosso do Sul State, aimed at consolidating historical documents, essential tools for research purposes. The historical approach is focused on archival and bibliographical research and has been developed through the use of localization procedures, recovery, documentary collection, selection, and assembling documentary sources of public records and school records in Mato Grosso  and Mato Grosso do Sul, associated with a conceptual framework linked to the History, the History of Education and Archiving.  The results show that the efforts undertaken at the early stage of this project allowed assembling a set of documents, which enables researches of various educational approaches in Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, highlighting theorganization of public education in the State, the operation and organization of the educational institutions. In this sense, the article seeks to encourage similar initiatives towards the consolidation of this field of study and research in the History of Education in Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, encouraging and strengthening the so-called network of sociability

In this sense, the article seeks to encourage similar initiatives towards the consolidation of this field of study and research in the History of Education in Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, encouraging and strengthening the so-called network of sociabilityO presente artigo pretende divulgar algumas contribuições para o campo de estudos históricos da educação, trazendo uma discussão acerca da imprensa periódica e dos arquivos escolares, delineando os caminhos percorridos no que tange ao uso destas fontes em História da Educação, objeto de estudo em universidades públicas do Estado de Mato Grosso do Sul, visando à organização de instrumentos de pesquisa. A abordagem histórica encontra-se  centrada  na pesquisa documental e na pesquisa bibliográfica, e vem sendo desenvolvida mediante a utilização de procedimentos de localização, recuperação, reunião, seleção e ordenação de fontes documentais dos arquivos públicos e arquivos escolares em Mato Grosso e Mato Grosso do Sul, aliados a um referencial teórico ligado à História, História da Educação e Arquivologia. Os resultados apontam que o esforço inicial empreendido permitiu reunir um conjunto de documentos, que viabiliza estudos sob diversas abordagens na educação matogrossense e sul-matogrossense, no que tange à organização da instrução pública no estado, ao funcionamento e à organização das instituições de ensino.
