ATLETICS AS PHYSICAL EDUCATION CONTENTS CLASSES IN SCHOOL OF PONTA GROSSA CITY

Resumo: Athletics is considered by many people as the “father” of sports, given that it consists of the rules to run, jump and throw, motor actions that would be necessary for the practice of many other sports. Being the athletic movements composed of key development and improvement of motor skills of children and teenager, this is one of the main contents of the discipline of physical education. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine whether athletics is an integral part of the contents of physical education in public schools in Ponta Grossa city.  The data collection was a descriptive study developed a quantitative and qualitative approach, using two semi-structured questionnaires.  The survey was conducted in 14 state pubic schools in the village of Ponta Grossa. The sample consisted of 22 graduates in physical education teachers and 280 students. After collection and analysis of data it was concluded that 96% of teachers reported the use of athletics as the content of their classes, although not all schools submit appropriate place to practice this sport. However, 38.60% of students said they had not learned in athletics physical education classes. The race was the most widely discussed by teachers in physical education classes  and recognized by students as content. Although the athletic was a part of the contents of physical education classes, the quality of teaching and learning this sport must be rethought, as the perception of what was taught by the teacher and learned by the student is very divergent.

Sendo o atletismo composto por  movimentos fundamentais para o desenvolvimento e aperfeiçoamento das habilidades motoras das crianças e adolescentes, este é um dos principais conteúdos da disciplina de educação física escolar. Assim sendo, o objetivo deste estudo foi verificar se o atletismo é parte integrante do conteúdo da disciplina de Educação Física nas escolas estaduais do município de Ponta Grossa. Para o levantamento dos dados foi desenvolvido um estudo descritivo com uma abordagem quanti-qualitativa, mediante a utilização de dois questionários semiestruturados. A pesquisa foi realizada em 14 escolas estaduais da zona urbana de Ponta Grossa. A amostra foi composta por 22 professores licenciados em Educação Física e 280 alunos. Após agrupamento e análise dos dados foi possível concluir que 96% dos professores afirmaram utilizar o atletismo como conteúdo de suas aulas, apesar de todas as escolas não apresentarem local adequado para a prática desta modalidade. Entretanto, 38,60% dos alunos disseram não terem aprendido atletismo nas aulas  de Educação Física. A corrida foi a modalidade mais abordada pelos professores nas aulas de Educação Física e reconhecida pelos alunos como conteúdo.
