Psychology and inclusive education: teaching, learning and development of students with disturbances

Resumo: Current investigation describes and reflects on the limitations and possibilities of inclusive education by its foregrounding on Psychology and discusses aspects related to teaching, learning and development of students with disorders. Is it relevant to include these students within the school context? Is it possible to include these children? Based on the Historical and Cultural Theory, the issues involve the premise that a properly organized learning produces development. Current paper deals with a theoretical research in which we provide a historical outline of the education of people with disorders and establish a relationship between Psychology, Education and Inclusion. Results show that we have made a lot of progress with regard to normative aspects that warrant the access of students with disorder to regular schooling. However, the construction of a really inclusive school, featuring educational practices for the maximum development of the students´ capacities, is still a long way off.

However, the construction of a really inclusive school, featuring educational practices for the maximum development of the students´ capacities, is still a long way off. En el presente texto, buscamos señalar y reflexionar sobre algunos límites y posibilidades de la educación inclusiva con base en fundamentos de la psicología, discutiendo aspectos relacionados a la enseñanza, al aprendizaje y al desarrollo de alumnos con trastornos. ¿Cuál la importancia de incluir este alumnado en el contexto escolar? ¿Es posible incluir a todos los niños? Con base en presupuestos de la Teoría Histórico-Cultural, estas cuestiones son pensadas bajo la premisa de que el aprendizaje adecuadamente organizado resulta en desarrollo. Se trata de una investigación teórica, en la cual planteamos un panorama histórico de la educación de personas con trastornos, buscando establecer una relación entre psicología, educación e inclusión. Concluimos que avanzamos en cuanto a los aspectos normativos que garantizan el acceso de los alumnos con trastornos a las aulas comunes de la enseñanza regular, aunque haya un largo camino para la construcción de una escuela realmente inclusiva, con prácticas educativas dirigidas para el desarrollo máximo del potencial de estos alumnos. No presente texto, buscamos apontar e refletir sobre alguns limites e possibilidades da educação inclusiva com base em fundamentos da psicologia, discutindo aspectos relacionados ao ensino, à aprendizagem e ao desenvolvimento de alunos com transtornos. Qual a importância de incluir esse alunado no contexto escolar? É possível incluir todas as crianças? Com base em pressupostos da Teoria Histórico-Cultural, essas questões são pensadas sob a premissa de que a aprendizagem adequadamente organizada resulta em desenvolvimento. Trata-se de uma pesquisa teórica, na qual traçamos um panorama histórico da educação de pessoas com transtornos, buscando estabelecer uma relação entre psicologia, educação e inclusão.
