Values and attributes of the profession from the perspective of physical education tudents

Resumo: Current investigation shows how the university formation process contributes towards the development of the idea of the professional by students through the identification of concepts and through attributes relevant to future performance. Features related to the profession (values and rules to be followed), to intervention subjects (behaviors and attitudes of students or professionals) and to professional activities (characteristics linked to the activities´ specificity) were identified by the Focal Group technique employed by Physical Education students at the State University of Maringá, Maringá PR Brazil. Analyses of the research involving students show that the professional formation stance within the BA course in Physical Education is determined by the ability to evaluate and judge the procedures and values that will be part of the activities and not merely by knowledge of the scientific content.

Por medio de la técnica de Grupo Focal, utilizada junto a estudiantes de Educación Física de la Universidad Estadual de Maringá-PR (UEM), fue posible identificar atributos relacionados a la profesión (valores y normas a ser seguidos), a los sujetos de la intervención (comportamientos y actitudes del propio alumno o profesional) y a la acción profesional (características ligadas a la especificidad de la acción). Los análisis decurrentes de la investigación con los estudiantes nos llevan a concluir que la dirección de la formación profesional en el curso de licenciado en Educación Física es determinada por la capacidad de evaluar y juzgar los procedimientos y valores que harán parte de las acciones y no meramente por el dominio de los contenidos científicos.A investigação de como o processo de formação contribui para a elaboração da ideia de profissional por universitários a partir da identificação de suas concepções e dos atributos considerados relevantes para a futura atuação na área constituem o objetivo desse texto. Por meio da técnica de Grupo Focal, utilizada junto a estudantes de Educação Física da Universidade Estadual de Maringá-PR (UEM), foi possível identificar atributos relacionados à profissão (valores e normas a serem seguidos), aos sujeitos da intervenção (comportamentos e atitudes do próprio aluno ou profissional) e à ação profissional (características ligadas à especificidade da ação).
