Resumo: The eugenic discourse is discussed within the context of current genetic technologies by guidelines proposed by Theodor W. Adorno on the concept of progress and development in a society prone to barbarisms, heartlessness and desensitization with regard to the use of genetic interventions on bodies with imperfections or shortcomings.

Adorno on the concept of progress and development in a society prone to barbarisms, heartlessness and desensitization with regard to the use of genetic interventions on bodies with imperfections or shortcomings. En este texto es hecha una reflexión sobre el discurso eugenésico en el contexto del actual desarrollo de las tecnologías genéticas, orientándose para ello, por las consideraciones de Theodor W. Adorno sobre el concepto de progreso en una sociedad marcada por un clima propicio a la barbarie, frialdad e insensibilización en lo que se refiere al uso de las intervenciones genéticas sobre el cuerpo de los sujetos considerados imperfectos/discapacitados. Neste texto faz-se uma reflexão sobre o discurso eugênico no contexto do atual desenvolvimento das tecnologias genéticas, orientando-se para tanto, pelas considerações de Theodor W.
