In this article we have the purpose of interpreting possible reasons that led to the murder in 415 of Hypatia, mathematician, astronomer, philosopher and director of the Museum that housed the famous Library of Alexandria. In this analysis, we will proceed to a confrontation that consists, on the one hand, of emphasizing the Greek virtues practiced by her of paideia and parrhesia and, on the other hand, of attributing meanings to the bad qualities of hybris and pleonexia practiced by her executioners.
