Literature and Astronomy: analysis of an image from the story “Mais coisas do céu” by Monteiro Lobato, from the interdisciplinary image reading

Resumo: Literature and Astronomy have potential when they are incorporated into interdisciplinary teaching practices that, in general, aim to instill attention and curiosity in students, which are essential elements for the construction of learning. In the present work, we aim to analyze an image of the short story “Mais Coisas do Céu” from the book “Serões de Dona Benta” by Monteiro Lobato, seeking to investigate the potential of the image for the area of Education in Astronomy. To do so, we use the Interdisciplinary Image Reading theory. The results show that the image can be a starting point for the approach of the process of construction of knowledge of Astronomy, specifically for the concept of phases of the Moon, besides emphasizing the importance of experimental practices. In addition, the concept presented in the image is in line with the competencies and skills provided by the National Curricular Common Base.

En el presente trabajo pretendemos analizar una imagen del cuento “Mais cosas del cielo” de la obra “Serões de Dona Benta” de Monteiro Lobato, buscando investigar el potencial de la imagen para el área de Educación. en Astronomía. Para ello utilizamos la teoría de lectura interdisciplinaria de imágenes. Los resultados muestran que la imagen puede ser un punto de partida para abordar el proceso de construcción del conocimiento en Astronomía, específicamente para el concepto de fases de la Luna, además de resaltar la importancia de las prácticas experimentales. Además, el concepto que se presenta en la imagen cumple con las competencias y habilidades establecidas en la Base Curricular Común Nacional.A Literatura e a Astronomia possuem potencialidades quando são incorporadas em práticas de ensino interdisciplinares que, em geral, visam instigar nos estudantes a atenção e a curiosidade, que são elementos essenciais para a construção da aprendizagem. No presente trabalho, objetivamos analisar uma imagem do conto “Mais coisas do céu” da obra “Serões de Dona Benta” de Monteiro Lobato, buscando investigar as potencialidades da imagem para a área de Educação em Astronomia. Para tanto, utilizamos a teoria de Leitura de Imagem Interdisciplinar. Os resultados mostram que a imagem pode ser ponto de partida para a abordagem do processo de construção de conhecimento de Astronomia, especificamente para o conceito de fases da Lua, além de salientar a importância das práticas experimentais.
