In order to collaborate in overcoming some problems involving the teaching of modern Physics in the classroom, in this work we present a brief review of the scientific literature in order to discuss the main results obtained in works that approach the theme of interaction of radiation with matter, in especially those that use spectroscopy techniques using wavelengths in the visible range, applied in practical activities in basic education. This is the first stage of a master's research, in the initial process of development, linked to the Postgraduate Program in Physics Teaching at UTFPR, Campo Mourão campus, in partnership with the Brazilian Society of Physics. In this work, we discuss the main difficulties and limitations indicated by the research already developed on the subject, as well as the positive results obtained from the experiences already carried out by teachers on the subject in the classroom. Based on these notes, we hope to develop an educational product for teaching this topic in basic education that seeks to effectively contribute to the improvement of the teaching-learning process of this content of Modern Physics in high school.
