Resumo: | The work aims to describe, through the triad of discursive genres, the female representations presented in strips from the collection in Spanish ‘Mafalda inédita’. The study focuses on the transdisciplinary perspective of Critical Applied Linguistics, a field of study of different situations of human communication. The theoretical-methodological contributions are in the postulates of the Bakhtin Circle on discursive genres and in the studies of multimodalities. The research is qualitative, bibliographical and documentary, the data were analyzed according to the semiosis recorded in these narratives and the argumentative resources of classical rhetoric. The results indicate the versatility of the cartoonist Quino in raising the dialogue, in the sixties, between two characters and female representations in South American society. The humorous content associated with reflections on the subject encourages teachers to persist in the debate on the condition of women in our society. Such discussion is urgent and necessary in language teaching activities. |

Universidade Estadual De Maringá2022-11-07info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttp://www.periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/ActaSciLangCult/article/view/6496310.4025/actascilangcult.v44i2.64963Acta Scientiarum.
