Resumo: | The English language literature plays an important role in the development of the teachers’education as a whole. Besides being an object of study in the literature classes, this also can be considered a tool for the teaching of the English language, once the literary genre is inside the most diverse spheres of human communication. Thus, this study aims at analyzing the short story A Haunted House, by Virginia Woolf, from the short story didactic model, considering the main teaching elements. We bear our analysis, mainly, on Bronckart’s theory (1999, 2003, 2009) when dealing with text analysis, Cristovão (2007) for the concept of didactic model, Dolz e Schneuwly (2004), for didactic transposition and Gotlib (2003), to highlight the short story characteristics. From the results we can state that the short story is a highly tool for the development of the education of language teachers. |

A literatura em língua inglesa tem um importante papel no desenvolvimento da educação de professores como um todo. Além de ser objeto de estudo nas aulas de literatura, esta também pode ser considerada um instrumento de ensino de língua inglesa, uma vez que o gênero literário está presente nas mais diversas esferas da comunicação humana. Diante disso, o estudo em tela tem por objetivo apresentar a análise do conto A Haunted House, de Virginia Woolf, a partir do modelo didático de conto, considerando seus principais elementos de ensino. Nossas bases teóricas estão alicerçadas, principalmente, nos conceitos de Bronckart (1999, 2003, 2009), no que se refere à análise de texto, em Cristovão (2007), para modelo didático, Dolz e Schneuwly (2004), no que tange à transposição didática e Gotlib (2003), ao considerar as características do gênero conto. Os resultados demonstram que o gênero conto é um forte aliado para o desenvolvimento da educação de professores de línguas.
