Panegyric in admission exams and its argumentative aspect

Resumo: In this paper, we analyze the comments found in two different media about a question proposed by the board of examiners of the writing composition admission exams (vestibular) to the Federal University of Espírito Santo in 2014. The question, the composition of a panegyric, was both criticized and praised by teachers who worked with the preparation of candidates to the exam in the city of Vitória, ES. Our analysis, based on the National Standards for High School) (Brasil, 2000) that dictate the syllabus of schools in Brazil and on the frame of reference for correction of the exams, published by the University Committee (CCV), tries to evaluate the level of adequacy of the proposedquestion, when compared to the abilities the student should have acquired, as well as identify the permanence of conservative methods of teaching the Portuguese language in schools in the state. We also illustrate the use of praise and blame in other genres of texts that can be taught at the high school level.

We also illustrate the use of praise and blame in other genres of texts that can be taught at the high school level.Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar comentários acerca de uma proposta de redação do vestibular da Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo no ano de 2014 para ingresso em 2015. A questão, que propunha a escrita de um panegírico, foi tanto vituperada, quanto elogiada por alguns professores de cursinhos pré-vestibulares da cidade de Vitória-ES. Procuramos mostrar, através da análise dos Parâmetros curriculares nacionais do ensino médio (PCNEM) (Brasil, 2000), que regem o currículo escolar brasileiro, e do quadro de referência do que é esperado do estudante na produção textual no vestibular da Ufes, publicado pela Comissão Coordenadora de Vestibular (CCV), a adequação da proposta às competências exigidas do aluno, bem como identificar, ainda, a manutenção de métodos conservadores no ensino de Língua Portuguesa no cenário capixaba.
