Academic monitoring in public universities in Paraná: a critical analysis from a regimental perspective

Resumo: This paper aims at presenting the findings regarding a cartography of the functioning of academic monitoring in higher education institutions (HEI) that make up the Lila (Integrated Laboratory of Academic-Scientific Literacies) network, from the regimental point of view. The Lila was created, in June 2020, as an integrated interinstitutional project - teaching, research and extension -, and initially registered at the State University of Londrina (UEL). The project foresees, as one of its actions, the holding of educational workshops for monitors who must work in the public HEI in Paraná that are currently part of the network. Based on the concept of monitoring as an educational tool (Natário, 2001) and of academic-scientific literacies as a singularity of uses of language, in a specific context (Navarro, Cristovão, & Furtoso, 2021), this study seeks to support a larger applied research whose objective is to develop and validate a project monitors’ educational workshop, which articulates self-instructional activities with moments of synchronous training. For the proposed survey, the answers to a questionnaire on the institutional functioning of academic monitoring applied to the Lila coordinators of the ten HEI members of the network, at the time of data generation, and the documents that manage academic monitoring in such HEI are analyzed. The results show that the documents that govern academic monitoring in these HEI, in general, need to be updated to give more flexibility to the projects, so that teaching can be integrated with research and extension and monitoring can be more valued from a formative point of view.

O Lila foi criado, em junho de 2020, como um projeto interinstitucional integrado – ensino, pesquisa e extensão –, e registrado, inicialmente, na Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL). O projeto tem previsto, como uma de suas ações, a realização de cursos de formação para monitores que devem atuar nas IES públicas do Paraná que integram a rede. Partindo de uma visão de monitoria como ferramenta formativa (Natário, 2001) e de letramentos acadêmico-científicos como uma singularidade de usos da língua/linguagem, em um contexto específico (Navarro, Cristovão, & Furtoso, 2021), este estudo busca subsidiar uma pesquisa maior, de natureza aplicada, cujo objetivo é desenvolver e validar um curso de formação para monitores do projeto, que articule atividades de cunho autoinstrucional com momentos de formação síncrona. Para o levantamento proposto, são analisadas as respostas a um questionário sobre o funcionamento institucional da monitoria acadêmica aplicado aos coordenadores do Lila das dez IES integrantes da rede, no momento da geração dos dados, e os documentos que regem a monitoria acadêmica nessas mesmas IES.
