Resumo: Considering the organizational learning and commitment of individuals as contributing factors to the success of public and private organizations, the study sought to better understand the integration of these constructs in an IHE - Institution of Higher Education. In order to achieve the overall goal that was to: analyze the relationship between commitment and organizational learning in a public institution of higher education we conducted a survey with a sample of 116 valid statutory employees of a HEI. Two questionnaires of self report were used, the Organizational Learning Scale (OLS) of Goh and Richard (1997), that was validated in Brazil by Angelim and Guimarães (2003), and the instrument of Meyer, Allen and Smith (1993), validated in Brazil by Medeiros and Enders (1998), in the administrative and support sectors of the organization. It was concluded that the more committed employees are, the greater the perception of favorable factors to learning and consequently the greater the chances that such scenarios will actually stimulate the organizational learning. The study highlights the importance of investing in the potential factors of learning and identifying the components of commitment, in order to improve the internal processes, as well as the learning capacity of the organization as a whole.

The study highlights the importance of investing in the potential factors of learning and identifying the components of commitment, in order to improve the internal processes, as well as the learning capacity of the organization as a whole. Universidade Estadual De Maringá2016-06-24info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionSurveyapplication/pdfhttp://www.periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/ActaSciHumanSocSci/article/view/2707610.4025/actascihumansoc.v38i1.27076Acta Scientiarum.
