Resumo: In this article we intend to make considerations about Tomás de Aquino’s government conception. Through this analysis we aim to explain that Aquinate’s proposal of an only government is amalgamated to the historic context of that time (13th century). By defending an only power as a supervisor of the relations among different segments of society, D. Angélico is gathering in only one person the idea that, in Earth, the common weal can just be reached if the government follows the steps of the Universe government, that is, the unique God of Christianism. So, his idea of government expresses the human relations, therefore his reason and his religious conception
