Resumo: Changes which occurred and those in process within the field of communication are highlighted through the incorporation of issues from environmental epistemology. The methodological approach comprises a review of the literature on the two fields under analysis, which underlies the analytical and reflective identification exercise of interfaces between Communication and Environment. The contributions of the environmental episteme in the (re)configuration of specific communication areas are provided. They reveal new perspectives brought by contact and mutual relationship. The epistemologies of Communication and Environment are brought forth to mark changes in Communications due to the incorporation of epistemic foregrounding in the fledging field of the Environment. Results show the perspectives for the expansion of interface studies, especially interdisciplinary ones and those with undetermined outlines.

Results show the perspectives for the expansion of interface studies, especially interdisciplinary ones and those with undetermined outlines.   O objetivo deste texto é colocar em evidência as mudanças que ocorreram e ainda estão em processo no campo da Comunicação pela incorporação de alguns elementos da epistemologia ambiental. O procedimento metodológico adotado é a revisão de literatura sobre os dois campos estudados, que embasa o exercício analítico-reflexivo de identificação das interfaces entre os campos da Comunicação e do Meio Ambiente. Busca-se expor as contribuições da episteme ambiental na (re)configuração de determinadas áreas comunicacionais, revelando as novas perspectivas trazidas pelo contato e pela relação de um com o outro. Trata-se aqui das epistemologias próprias de cada um destes campos a fim de assinalar mudanças observadas na Comunicação em função da incorporação de fundamentos epistêmicos de um campo ainda em formação – o ambiental.
