Resumo: This research analyzes psychological variables resilience, self-efficacy and motivation of 112 students from the Escola de Dança do Teatro Guaíra took part in this study, 15 professional dancers from Balé Teatro Guaíra and 08 professional dancers from G2 Cia de Dança, totaling 135 dancers. The evaluation of psychological variables was performed using four questionnaires, Resilience Scale, Perceived General Self-Efficacy Scale, Dancers' Self-Efficacy Scale, Sport Motivation Scale II. For data analysis were used: Hierarchical Cluster Analysis with the Ward's method, and Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that students and professionals have similar levels of motivation and divergence in the category of friendship, personal fulfillment, satisfaction, meaning of life and self-confidence, ability to adapt to situations of resilience and psychological self-efficacy. The results of the cluster analysis identified that a group of student dancers with similar characteristics were divided into three clusters, "predominant", "intermediate" and "minority", while the group of professional dancers is divided into two groups "minor" and "major". It was concluded that both student dancers and dance professionals showed high values in the dimensions of the psychological variables of resilience, self-efficacy and motivation, these results allow us to affirm that dance has an important role in the construction of a positive psychological profile.
