Resumo: The research was carried out between 1999 and 2000, in Selvíria, State of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. It aims at evaluating the effect of sidedressing nitrogen application, in common bean Pérola, under no-tillage system. The experimental design was a randomized block in a factorial scheme 6x2 with four dose (0, 25, 50, 75, 100 e 125 kg ha-1) and two sources (nitrate of ammonium and urea) of sidedressing nitrogen, with four replications. The evaluations were: full flowering, dry matter of the plants, nitrogen in shoot, production components, crop cycle and grain productivity. The common bean grain productivity is the same using nitrate of ammonium or urea as sidedressing nitrogen; the common bean grain productivity with irrigation in winter can be increased by sidedressing nitrogen. Therefore, the grain yield was affected by the application of nitrogen over 100 kg ha-1.

Therefore, the grain yield was affected by the application of nitrogen over 100 kg ha-1.O trabalho foi conduzido nos anos de 1999 e 2000, no município de Selvíria, Estado do Mato Grosso do Sul, e teve por objetivo avaliar o efeito da aplicação de nitrogênio em cobertura, na cultura do feijão cv. Pérola, em plantio direto. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi de blocos casualizados, em esquema fatorial 6x2 envolvendo seis doses (0, 25, 50, 75, 100 e 125 kg ha-1) e duas fontes (nitrato de amônio e uréia) de N em cobertura, com quatro repetições. Foram avaliados: dias para o florescimento pleno, matéria seca de plantas, teor de nitrogênio na parte aérea, componentes de produção, ciclo da cultura e produtividade de grãos.
