Development of temporal organization of children with learning difficulties

Resumo: | The objective of study was to investigate the temporal organization development of children with learning difficulties. The sample was composed of 34 children, 11 girls and 23 boys aging from 8 to 10 years old, all students of state schools from the city of Londrina-Pr. Data was collected according to the procedures of the Motor Evaluation Manual (Rosa Neto, 2002). Descriptive statistics and frequency tables were adopted for data analysis. The results showed that near 53% of the total sample did not reach adequate levels for temporal organization development. Analyzing the groups individually, only at 8 years old more than half of the children presented a motor age equivalent to normal levels of the chronological age. Therefore, it is possible to verify a motor deficit in the diferent tasks that evaluated temporal organization, indicating tha when there is an increase in the chronological age it apears to have an increase in the relative deficit at the aspects that constitutes the temporal organization. |

A amostra compreendeu 34 crianças (11 meninas e 23 meninos) de 8 a 10 anos, estudantes de escolas estaduais da cidade de Londrina - PR. Para a coleta de dados foram adotados os procedimentos do Manual de Avaliação Motora (Rosa Neto, 2002). Os dados foram analisados descritivamente e com a utilização de tabelas de freqüência. De maneira geral, os resultados demonstraram que aproximadamente 53% das crianças atingiram níveis inferiores ao esperado para sua idade cronológica, e na análise por grupo, apenas as crianças do grupo de 8 anos obtiveram coeficiente motor equivalente aos níveis esperados para a sua idade cronológica.
