Resumo: The purpose of this study was to compare the acute effect of musical cadence’s elevation and the use of the lower body in choreography of “Jump” on the variables heart rate (HR), oxygen consumption (VO2), energy expenditure (DE) and perceived exertion (PSE). Eleven healthy female participants composed the sample. The volunteers were subjected to four tests which the first was the Bruce Protocol; subsequently, the three Protocols of “Jump” were performed. The average values found in the Protocols “Jump” 1, “Jump” 2 and “Jump” 3 were, respectively: HR (155 ± 14 bpm; 160 ± 15 bpm; 165 ± 14 bpm); VO2 (25.16 ± 4.3 mL/kg/min; 28.17 ± 4.9 mL/kg/min; 28.83 ± 6.1 mL/kg/min); DE (7.75 ± 1.6 kcal/min; 8.67 ± 1.8 kcal/min; 8.87 ± 2.1 kcal/min); PSE (13 ± 2.5; 14 ± 2.3; 14 ± 2.9). It was concluded that variations of protocols imposed in this study are not sufficient to increase the intensity of a class of "Jump".

It was concluded that variations of protocols imposed in this study are not sufficient to increase the intensity of a class of "Jump".O estudo se propôs a comparar o efeito agudo da elevação da cadência musical e da utilização dos membros superiores em uma coreografia de “Jump” nas variáveis frequência cardíaca (FC), consumo de oxigênio (VO2), dispêndio energético (DE) e percepção subjetiva do esforço (PSE).
