Resumo: Resulting from a bibliographical study, the aim of the present article is to give through the cultural expression of capoeira and its increasing presence in social life, a vision of educational sports or school sports. It may be a guideline to the perception of how capoeira may be incorporated into the teaching of School Physical Education as another option of didactic and pedagogical content of great importance for the development of psycho-physico-social skills of the students in our Brazilian schools. A conception of capoeira from the anthropological point of view and supported by authors who deal with the educational sports issue is here discussed.

Este documento serve como elemento norteador para percebermos que a Capoeira pode ser incorporada no ensino da Educação Física Escolar como mais uma opção de conteúdo didático-pedagógico de grande importância para o desenvolvimento das habilidades físico-sociais dos educandos de nossas escolas brasileiras.
