Resumo: The present study had the objective of comparing the anthropometric and sprint variables of soccer athletes.753 athletes were evaluated divided in the categories: Under-14 (N=100); Under-16 (N=87); Under-18 (N=169); Under-21 (N=167) and Professional (N=230). Height, body mass, BMI and sum of 7 skinfolds were verified. Regarding the sprint, it was identified through a 40-meter test. Data analysis was carried out by ANOVA (p < 0.05) and the statistical software SPSS 13.0 was used. It has been found that body mass, BMI and height increased according to the categories, except to Under-21 and Professional categories. S7DC did not present differences only to the following categories: Under-14 x Professional; Under-16 x Under-18, Under-21 and Professional; Under-18 x Under-21. Sprint in 40-meter-interval has been different between all categories, except for Under-21 and Professional. Thus, it was observed an increase in BMI, body mass and sprint variables values, according to increase of athletes’ ages.

Department of Physical Education - State University of Maringá (UEM), Maringá-PR, Brazil2008-07-09info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/article/view/4319Journal of Physical Education; Vol 19 No 1 (2008); 93-100Journal of Physical Education; Vol. 19 Núm. 1 (2008); 93-100Journal of Physical Education; v. 19 n. 1 (2008); 93-1002448-2455reponame:Journal of Physical Education (Maringá)instname:Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM)instacron:UEMporhttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/article/view/4319/2921Daros, Larissa BobroffOsiecki, RaulDourado, Antonio CarlosStanganélli, Luiz Cláudio ReebergFornaziero, André MontanholliFrisseli, Ariobaldoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2023-01-10T15:37:35Zoai:periodicos.uem.br/ojs:article/4319Revistahttp://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/indexPUBhttps://old.scielo.br/oai/scielo-oai.php||revdef@uem.br2448-24552448-2455opendoar:2023-01-10T15:37:35Journal of Physical Education (Maringá) - Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM)false
