Resumo: | Imagery has been used to improve functional motor performance in individuals post stroke; however, these subjects ability to generate vivid images is a questioned factor. The aim of this study was to evaluate changes in motor imagery ability of individuals post stroke. Seven individuals after stroke participated in the study. The assessment of the imagery ability was applied in pre-test (PRE-CI), post-test (POST-CI) and follow-up period (FUP-CI), using the Kinesthetic and Visual Imagery Questionnaire (KVIQ-10.) Four sessions of pre-conditioning and six of specific imagery were performed. The subjects improved the motor imagery ability for kinesthetic domain when the tasks were performed with the unaffected side by stroke (p = 0.03). The improvement found indicates an asymmetry with respect to the imagery ability of these individuals. |

Department of Physical Education - State University of Maringá (UEM), Maringá-PR, Brazil2012-09-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionLongitudinal researchPesquisa longitudinalapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/article/view/16747Journal of Physical Education; Vol 23 No 3 (2012); 389-398Journal of Physical Education; Vol. 23 Núm. 3 (2012); 389-398Journal of Physical Education; v. 23 n. 3 (2012); 389-3982448-2455reponame:Journal of Physical Education (Maringá)instname:Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM)instacron:UEMporhttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/article/view/16747/10460Silva, Larissa Rebola Volpi daRodacki, André Luiz FélixGoes, Suelen MeiraKuczynski, Kátia MariaCoelho, Ricardo WeigertStefanello, Joice Mara Faccoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2023-01-10T15:38:17Zoai:periodicos.uem.br/ojs:article/16747Revistahttp://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/indexPUBhttps://old.scielo.br/oai/scielo-oai.php||revdef@uem.br2448-24552448-2455opendoar:2023-01-10T15:38:17Journal of Physical Education (Maringá) - Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM)false |
