Resumo: | The purpose of this study was to verify the influence of the isoenergetic drinks intake on the athletes performance during a high intensity swimming interval training session. The sample embraced six 15-20-year-old male athletes. They performed three training sessions, one with no liquid intake, a second one with Marathon intake, and a third one ingesting placebo. The training session was performed in a 10 x 100 meters series with maximum intensity and a four-minute interval between each series. The following variables were analyzed: body weight, heart rate, blood glucose level, and swimming time. The results showed significant differences in favor of the treatment with Marathon concerning the glucose level variable. The heart rate was significantly higher during the training session. The weight loss with no liquid intake was significantly higher when compared to the other treatments. |

Department of Physical Education - State University of Maringá (UEM), Maringá-PR, Brazil2008-05-27info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/article/view/3467Journal of Physical Education; Vol 14 No 2 (2003); 33-39Journal of Physical Education; Vol. 14 Núm. 2 (2003); 33-39Journal of Physical Education; v. 14 n. 2 (2003); 33-392448-2455reponame:Journal of Physical Education (Maringá)instname:Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM)instacron:UEMporhttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/article/view/3467/2473Luft, Caroline Di BernardiKrug, Marilia de Rossoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2023-01-10T15:37:15Zoai:periodicos.uem.br/ojs:article/3467Revistahttp://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/indexPUBhttps://old.scielo.br/oai/scielo-oai.php||revdef@uem.br2448-24552448-2455opendoar:2023-01-10T15:37:15Journal of Physical Education (Maringá) - Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM)false |
