Resumo:   Abstract: This article aims to analyze the historical process that gradually transformed certain social practices into sexual violence against girls and boys at the legal level. In the first part of the article, we discuss how this process took place in relation to international standards produced by the United Nations (UN) for children, with emphasis on the debates on Article 34 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Subsequently, we verified how the theme of the considered sexual violence was approached in the text of the Statute of the Child and Adolescent, promulgated in 1990, by the Brazilian government. En la primera parte del artículo, discutimos cómo se llevó a cabo este proceso en relación con las normas internacionales producidas por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) para la infancia, con énfasis en los debates sobre el Artículo 34 de la Convención sobre los Derechos del Niño. Posteriormente, verificamos cómo se abordó el tema de la violencia sexual considerada en el texto del Estatuto da criança e do Adolescente, promulgado en 1990, por el gobierno brasileño. Estatuto da criança e do Adolescente.Resumo: Este artigo tem por objetivo analisar o processo histórico que, paulatinamente, transformou determinadas práticas sociais em violências sexuais infligidas a meninas e meninos no plano jurídico. Na primeira parte do artigo, abordamos como se deu o referido processo em relação às normativas internacionais produzidas pela Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU) para a infância, com ênfase nos debates sobre o Artigo 34 da Convenção sobre os Direitos da Criança. Posteriormente, verificamos como a temática das consideradas violências sexuais foi abordada no texto do Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente, promulgado em 1990 pelo governo brasileiro.
