The study of prepositions in Brazilian Portuguese: an Antoine Culioli’s Approach

Resumo: Over the last few years, many excellent works have been developed to analyze the practices of prepositions in Brazilian Portuguese in a particular manner. This article pursues to elucidates the heuristic scope of the theoretical-methodological framework of Antoine Culioli's Theory of Predicative and Enunciative Operations (TOPE), mainly because we find, besides an interesting analytical model, contributions capable of reanalyzing aspects such as the nature of terms that the preposition puts in relation and its semanticism. Particularly, we rely on the works of Franckel and Paillard (2007) and Ashino, Franckel, and Paillard (2017), developed within the scope of propositional semantics.
