Resumo: This article, affiliated with Michel Pêcheux's Discourse Analysis, works with discursivities related to the prison system and its links in memory networks in the Brazilian social formation. To do so, we will analyze the comment of a former TV host about animal rights, in which meanings are displaced when stating that prisoners could serve as guinea pigs for testing medicines, vaccines and the like, as “they would at least be useful for something before dying". In our study, we consider that, in these words, ideological evidences are reproduced about the prison system and the subjects therein, and, at the same time, issues from the capitalist (dis)order are silenced.
