This article reflects about the proposal of democracy, called biocracy, whose innovative ideas bring the need to defend the environment against the political and economic model, which is still below the necessary responsibility with the environment. This way of thinking about democracy does not place the human being as the central concern, this is the case with current liberal democracy, but as one of the important entities of the biotic community, composed of human and non-human beings. From a deductive method and bibliographical research, it makes a brief background on the concepts of democracy, we intending to analyze the biocracy and its implications to Political Theory considering the need of a democratic political change.
