A abordagem da História da Matemática no Ensino da Probabilidade nos livros didáticos do Ensino Médio

Recognizing the importance of allying the History of Mathematics to the probability content, as well as the relevance of evaluating the courseware used by the teacher in his daily life, in this work we will analyze four collections of mathematics textbooks suggested by PNLD 2018. Our objective is to answer the following question: “What is the approach given to the History of Mathematics in the content of probability in the textbooks of high school?” The analyzed data reveal that the textbooks deal with the content in question , referring to the History of Mathematics, however, in some cases, they leave gaps in the exposition of the same and/or a kind of limitation in the historical retrieval that was presented. We verified that the historical contextualization of the probability content varies from one author to another, some of them do it briefly, while others do it in a detailed way. However, by observing all the textbooks, we found that there are no questions for the study of the texts that bring the history related to the content. They also don’t suggest research activities in order to increase learning. In this way, our data lead us to the conclusion that it is necessary for the teacher to use complementary materials that can give the student the opportunity to reflect that all the scientific and technological culture is the result and instrument of social and economic evolution, today and throughout history.
