Famintos..., de Carmen de Figueiredo: uma escrita subversiva, à luz da crítica feminista

This research is a study about the novel Famintos... (1950), by the portuguese writer Carmen de Figueiredo. The aim was to analyze the factors that lead her writing to be considered subversive and to underdtand how this subversion contributed to give visibility to female characters, placing them in the center of the familiar relationships. In this way, we have started from the hypothesis that women can be represented out of the space orchestrated by male architecture, once that, in this perspective, the History of the women begins to be studied and shown under the visions of the women herselves, who seek to deconstruct the representation idealized by society and reproduced in the texts written by men. Therefore, seeking to contribute with reaserches of literary analysis which focus on works of feminine authourship, our study aligns to the analytic-methodology perspective of a bibliographical research of descriptive, interpretative, and critical-reflexive character. Thus, for the approaches of historiographical perspectives, we used the studies by Michelle Perrot (2017, 2019). To treat about writer women and theirs production condition, we used Virginia Woolf (2014, 2020). About the portuguese writers, we relied on the studies by Isabel Alegro de Magalhães (1995); Manuela Tavares (2011); Conceição Flores (2010), Ana Bárbara Pedrosa (2017) and others that were made necessary throughout the present research. In more specific terms, we have sought to show that, the writing of Figueiredo survived the Salazar Dictatorship, and it shows itself, in present days, relevant for the studies about Gender issues, mainly because the focus given to the writer woman or represented in the novel at the time in which was produced, it distunes, in many aspects, from the stereotypes of the women determined by the ideology of patriarchy; and it can, therefore, be considered as a transgressor writing of the current order.
