Rethinking the curriculum from schools’ occupations

Resumo: In May 2016, more than 150 school occupations by its students began in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. In this paper, it is analyzed how occupations and interpretations by students with regard to the education offered in schools can help to reflect on the theme of the school curriculum and the role of the school in the political socialization of youth. As sources, the transcribed reports of eleven discussion groups that were carried out with students who participated in the occupations in the cities of Porto Alegre, Pelotas and Rio Grande were used, as well as the sixty-five individual questionnaires with data collected after the discussion groups were held. The research employed the assumptions of the documentary method proposed by Ralf Bohnsack and Wivian Weller, which seeks to construct categories according to the reference group.   Keywords: Youth. En el presente artículo, se analiza de qué forma las ocupaciones y las interpretaciones, por parte de los estudiantes, en lo que se refiere a la educación ofrecida en las escuelas, pueden ayudarnos a reflexionar sobre la temática del currículo escolar y el papel de la escuela en la socialización política de la juventud. Como fuente, fueron utilizados los relatos transcritos de once grupos de discusión realizados con estudiantes que participaron de ocupaciones en las ciudades de Porto Alegre, Pelotas y Rio Grande, y sesenta y cinco cuestionarios individuales con datos recolectados después de la realización de los grupos de discusión. La investigación empleó los presupuestos del método documental de acuerdo con Ralf Bohnsack y Wivian Weller, que trata de buscar la construcción de categorías según el grupo de referencia.   Palabras clave: Juventudes. No presente artigo, analisa-se de que forma as ocupações e as interpretações, por parte dos estudantes, no que diz respeito à educação oferecida nas escolas, podem ajudar a refletir sobre a temática do currículo escolar e o papel da escola na socialização política da juventude. Como fonte, as narrativas transcritas de 11 grupos de discussão realizados com estudantes que participaram de ocupações nas cidades de Porto Alegre, Pelotas e Rio Grande, e 65 questionários individuais com dados coletados após a realização dos grupos de discussão foram utilizados. A pesquisa empregou os pressupostos do método documentário segundo Ralf Bohnsack e Wivian Weller, que trata de buscar a construção de categorias de acordo com o grupo de referência.   Palavras-chave: Juventudes.
